Choosing your slug

Your slug appears in every raffle URL — so choose it deliberately.

Last reviewed 5 June 2026

Your slug is the short, URL-friendly name for your organisation. It shows up in the web address of your organisation page and every raffle you run:

tickets.rafflelink.com/your-slug/your-raffle

Because it's baked into all those links, it's the one setup choice worth pausing on.

Why it's worth getting right

Your slug ends up in places you can't easily reach later — links you've shared, printed QR codes, social posts, supporters' bookmarks. You can rename it afterwards, but nothing redirects: every one of those links stops working the moment you do. So it's still the one setup choice worth pausing on.

Changing it later

If you genuinely need to, an Admin can rename it: Settings → Profile, in the red Danger Zone, choose Change URL. Two guards stand in the way:

  • You can't change it while a raffle is live. The button is disabled, with a note along the lines of "Unavailable while you have a live raffle. Buyers are using your current links — wait until your raffles are drawn."
  • You have to acknowledge the damage. Before it'll let you, you tick "I understand that all links I have already shared will stop working."

Old links break — there is no redirect

The app puts it plainly: changing your organisation URL "immediately breaks all existing links — your profile page, past raffle pages, links in emails already sent, social posts, and printed QR codes. There is no automatic redirect from the old URL."

Treat a rename as a last resort, not a tidy-up.

Picking a good one

  • Use your organisation's name, kept short — westside-fc, not the-westside-football-club-incorporated.
  • Make it recognisable to your supporters, so a link looks trustworthy.
  • Keep it stable — pick something that'll still fit if you run different raffles over the years, not tied to one event.
